It is equally famous for producing strawberries, trout, fish, mushrooms and radishes. If only Kakani and Okharpauwa of Nuwakot can be reached to get information about eating trout and fish, then domestic tourism will be promoted. Once you reach Kakani, you can enjoy the waterfalls here.

At a distance of 4 km from Bidur, the palace was initially limited to seven floors after an earthquake in 1990 destroyed two floors. After the proclamation of the republic on June 3, 2006, Nuwakot Durbar was turned into a museum on April 3, 2006.

The museum was nationalized in 1965 BS. In an article titled ‘Nuwakot Durbar: Possibility of Destination’, journalist Shyam Rimal wrote, The Baghbhairav Garden in Khinchet, Nuwakot is considered historic. According to media person Rimal, when General Bhimsen Thapa visited Palpa in 1868 BS, he considered the straw-covered Khinchet grassland suitable for planting mango orchards according to the hot weather here and asked the locals to move about 700 mango seedlings.

The same garden is still known as ‘Khinchet Bagh Bagh’. Just as Palpla & Khotang became famous for its dhakatopi and palm sticks, it has recently become popular in Nuwakot – a bullfighting competition. In the year 1819 BS, Prithvinarayan Shah built this palace by pulling an architectural master from Lalitpur. Initially, this palace was owned by Naut. An earthquake in 1990 caused two floors to collapse. The Nuwakot Sattale Darwar , which stands as an introduction to Nepal’s unification and history, is also a major attraction for both internal and external tourists.

But to break the pride of the Malla kings of the valley, Prithvi Narayan Shah built a palace in the style of a temple. The palace built in this way was used as a summer palace and another winter palace was built in Shera. Nuwakot is also considered culturally rich. The popular Mallakalin culture fairs, festivals and processions in the valley also take place in Nuwakot. On the other hand, many temples were built in Nuwakot during the time of Prithvi Narayan.

Nuwakot’s gods and goddesses, cultural rituals, artistic temples, historical sagas, archeological palaces, antiques were destroyed by the earthquake. However, domestic and foreign tourists also visit these places. Mata Bhairavi, south of the Nuwakot palace, is considered the protector of the country. It is also believed that Ran Bahadur Shah worshiped Bhairavi during the Nepal-China war and won the war due to his divine power. Due to this victory, Ran Bahadur had installed a gold-plated roof and gajur in the temple.

Sindur Yatra

Bhairavi’s Sindur Yatra in Nuwakot is considered culturally attractive. Devi Jatra i.e. Sindure Jatra is watched with interest not only by domestic tourists but also by foreign tourists. Bhairavi’s Sindur Yatra takes place on the full moon day of Chaitrashukla every year. This procession starts from Phagu Purnima and lasts for months.

Since the procession is being prepared from the day of Phagu Purnima, the priests do not eat wherever they find it. While this Jatra is going on, Narayan Jatra is also celebrated with pomp and circumstance.

This procession lasts for two days on the day of the horse procession and the day after. The previous day Narayan Devta goes to Besi and the next day Narayan Devta returns from Besi.

For the Sindure Jatra, arrangements have been made for Dhami i.e. priests of Bhairavi temple and Dhamini as well as Dwara i.e. government representatives Kumar, Ganesh and Guthiyar. Before conquering Nuwakot in 1801 BS, there was a dhami named Hakudyo here. The current Dhami Hariman Singh Dangol is of his twelfth generation.

There is a practice that Dhami should not cross the Trishuli, Samari, Tadi and Likhu rivers of Nuwakot without the permission of the head of state. This practice has been going on since prehistoric times. On the full moon day of Chaitra Shukla, the procession begins with the main method of bathing in the evening.

Dhami is dressed in special attire after bathing at a special site where guns have been fired. Dhami looks very gorgeous and attractive in golden crowns, jewelery, earrings, silver belts, dhamru pots, bhotos and jamas. Then Dhami takes the omen to her residence and runs out to the door. The sight of Dhami running is fun and somewhat scary. Sattale Darwar

According to the Tantric method, Bajracharya chants mantras and accordingly worships Dhami by Guthiyar . Then Bajracharya performs the method of offering Bhairav Bhairavi in Dhamidhamini. Dhamidhamini begins to tremble after taking the form of a goddess. Dhami rushes to drink the wine of Mahabali offered to Bhairav.

After this, Bajracharya chants mantras and applauds Dhami. After the completion of the Mahabali, Budhi Bhairavi (mother of Goddess Bhairavi) and Bhairavi are buried behind the temple. While burying the lingo, one should sit in the position of Bhairavi with the dhami khalto. This period is difficult for the devotees. Sattale Darwar

These lingos are cast on the days of Vaishakh Krishna Navami and Dashami respectively. On the day of Pratipada, Dhami is given a feast at Ganesh’s house. Then through the door, Dhamini is given clothes in the meeting room of  Sattale Darwar . Currently, the palace is being provided outside the palace as it has been damaged by the earthquake and is being supported on a support.

Dhami, Kumar, Ganesh and other khalkis are given pagari (feta). At the end of the journey, the salary given to Ganesh is taken back. Dhamidhamini goes to her residence. After a while, Dhamidhamini and Gana are taken to Taleju temple with special bazaar.
Taleju Bhavani has been devastated by the earthquake and has collapsed due to rain water.

Due to this, a cottage has been built outside. After completing the necessary worship by Bajracharya there, the procession departs from Bhairavi temple to Devighat or Jalpa temple on the south-west side. Devighat is the historical site where Prithvi Narayan Shah was cremated. The idols of Bhairavbhairavi and Ashtamatrika are placed on the bed during Jalpadevi i.e. Devighat Yatra. Sattale Darwar

This journey is reached to Devighat via Dharmapani, Battar, Majhitar and a large garden. In Devighat, a special ritual is performed by Bajracharya and at night, a goat is offered to a devotee. At the end the fish village is served.

Prophecy from Dhami

In Devighat, the New Year is predicted from the ascending deity. Only Gubhaju, Dware, Barhabhai Khalak have the opportunity to hear this prophecy.Remarkable speeches used to be delivered to the royal palace through the gate, but now they are delivered to the head of state. After the Devighat fair, Dhamidhamini and other gangs return to Sattale Darwar Nuwakot with Bajagaja.

After reaching Dharmapani of Nuwakot, Dhamidhamini is worshiped and a feast is served. Nishan Jhanda, Bhairavi and Taleju Bhavani are saluted in the presence of the heads of government offices on the next day or the afternoon of the second day.

After the Taleju program, Dhamidhamini enters her residence after placing the chariot in a dabli behind the Bhairavi temple. The next day, a special treat is given to the devotee in the dabli. Dhami, who takes the form of a deity, drinks the blood of a goat or a goat. When you start drinking blood, Dhami looks scary. Not only domestic tourists but also domestic tourists from neighboring districts flock to see the Sidar Jatra. Sattale Darwar
