If the duration of stay of these tourists in Nepal can be extended, it will further support Nepal’s GDP. Tourism has contributed 3.5 percent to the overall GDP in 2017 and is expected to contribute even more in 2018.

However, the above statistics show that the number of foreign tourists visiting Nepal is increasing annually. Which is also being supported by domestic tourists.

The number of domestic tourists visiting their own country is also increasing day by day. Which is a positive aspect for Tourism development. As a result, it has helped in promoting and addressing sustainable development, self-employment, linguistic and cultural practices of different regionsin Nepal .

Tourism is the backbone of the country’s economic development in terms of comparative and competitive advantage. It has been supporting employment creation, foreign exchange earning, overall economic development and prosperity in the country. It is necessary to diversify, expand and promote the cultural and Tourism sector in order to conserve and develop all the cultural heritage in the country .

And use it economically and to develop and expand Tourism as the economic base of the country to the rural level and bring its benefits to the lower strata of public life.

Along with the overall development and expansion of the tourism sector, internal Tourism should also be promoted by making the infrastructures here reliable, safe and standard in Nepal.

The Ministry of Tourism has come up with an ambitious master plan to increase the number of foreign tourists to one million by 2020. For that, the ministry has to face many challenges.

The government should take the major responsibility of making the country a prosperous and developed country by cooperating with the private sector to fully develop Tourism, agriculture and energy. The opening of industrial factories in Nepal and the flight of young manpower from abroad should be stopped.

It seems that the country can soon achieve the goal of prosperity if it can provide employment in its own country by stopping the foreign educated manpower in search of a bright future.
