How it works
Type how the word sounds: namaste → नमस्ते, mero naam → मेरो नाम, shubha prabhaat → शुभ प्रभात. Use aa for ा, ee for ी, oo for ू, ai for ै, au for ौ.
Capital letters give the hard sounds: T ट, Th ठ, D ड, Dh ढ, N ण, Sh ष. M gives ं, ~ gives ँ (gaau~ → गाउँ), H gives ः, Ri gives ृ (kRiShi → कृषि). A full stop becomes ।. Put English words inside { } to keep them as they are.
Common words such as nepal, kathmandu and dhanyabad are recognised even when typed the English way.
