Api nampa Conservation Area The Apinampa Conservation Area was established on 28th July, 2067 BS.The total area of this conservation area is 1903 sq. Km. This conservation area covers 21 villages of Darchula district. This conservation area is considered to be rich in natural resources.The following VDCs are included in this area which has ample potential for various tourist destinations, socio-cultural and religious tourism. A total of 21 VDCs including Beas, Rapla, Ghusa, Khandeshwari, Sunsera Sitola, Guljar, Sipti, Dhaulakot, Pipalchauri, Huti Hikila, Brahmadeb, Dhari, Chhapri Katai, Khar, Tapovan Sheri and Latinath have been established.
The Apinampa Conservation Area is bounded on the east by the Bajhang District, on the west by the Mahakali River on the international border with India, and on the south by the Lasku and Naugad rivers. The Apinampa Conservation Area itself is a geographically diverse area with many tourist potentials. Many people in the district can benefit from the development and expansion of this conservation area.This area is full of natural beauty with beautiful scenery as well as the foothills under the mountains, the forest, the wildlife, the animals and the flowers that bloom in different seasons. In the Apinampa Conservation Area, there is a valuable stock of Ryasagumba as well as a source of herbs including Panchaole Jatamasi.
The people living in the Apinampa area, especially the poor and backward people, are using the raw materials in the conservation area to strengthen their economic status. Therefore, as this Apinampa Conservation Area is economically, religiously and touristically suitable, various arrangements have been made here, said the Conservation Officer.This area is also suitable for apple cultivation as it produces good fruits like apples in the Api Nampa Conservation Area. Overall, this Nampa Conservation is full of natural beauty and is home to a large number of valuable herbs in the tourist area, as well as the world’s rare red panda.It is necessary for the local government to pay special attention to the tourism potential of this Darchula district as well as to make various kinds of herbs by processing herbs.
Darchula’s 7,132-meter-high Api Himal, 6,757-meter-high Nampa Himal, 6,850-meter Kapachuli Himal, Jethbuhari, Vyas Himal and other high mountain ranges are here. Most of the tourists enter the Api Himal village just to visit the areas around the Api Himal. There is a record of the first ascent of Darchula’s Api Himal in 1960. But lately, mountaineering has been banned. Within the Api Nampa Conservation Area, there are 25 species of mammals including rare wildlife, snow leopard, black bear, musk deer, squirrel, noir, weasel, monkey, Dumsi, Wasso, Lagunar Thar. A recent survey in Vyas confirmed that there were snow leopards within the Api Nampa Conservation.
Locals say that there has been no activity to attract tourists in recent times due to lack of publicity. If only the Api Himal route of Darchula can be reopened, it seems that the tourism activities here will continue. The Apihimal village municipality has taken the policy of exploring and identifying the potential of the tourism sector as the first attempt in the area which has a lot of potential in the tourism sector.The shortest route for tourists and mountaineers is the route to Latinath, Guljar and Ghusa via Gokuleshwar in Darchula. The Api Himal Wes Camp can be easily reached in a day and a half from the current Api Himal village. Tourists have been visiting this area through this route since the past. Although it is not difficult to climb Api Himal, there are few hotels and other facilities required for tourists to reach Api Himal.
After Khaptad National Park in western Nepal, the Apinampa Conservation Area is considered as a biodiversity hotspot. The conservation area has been established for the overall development of the northern part of Darchula district, which is lagging behind in terms of existing poverty and development by developing and conserving the natural resources, valuable herbs and rare wild animals in the area as well as tourism.Rare wildlife such as snow leopard, squirrel, mountain black bear, scarecrow, munal and snow peacock are found in this area. Valuable herbs like Jatamasi, Yarsagumba, Pachanole, Kudki, Sugandhabal, Talispatra, Lauthasallo, Pakhanveda, Dal Chini, Ritha are found.
Walking in the middle of the dense green forest in the Apinampa Conservation Area, sometimes there is an opportunity to meet wild animals, some of the areas within the Brahmadaha, Ranikot, Thaisain have beautiful fields. There are also large lakes nearby. The sweat of walking uphill, the wind blowing in Bhanjyang and the dampness of the lakes dry up instantly and make you feel cold. You can reach the cracks of Brahmadha area in about 5 hours by walking slowly.The Brahmadah Ranikot area in the Apinampa Conservation Area is one of the many destinations. Although there is not much publicity, there are many people who reach here. Although it is famous for domestic tourism, foreign tourists have come in small numbers. It is not so difficult to reach the fields.
You have to walk a short distance from Darchula headquarters. The traffic has not reached the place which can be reached in about 4 hours on foot. The road is not so bumpy. The journey is easy. If the government provided roads, the journey would be shorter.The number of foreign tourists in the Apinampa Conservation Area has increased this year, albeit to a lesser extent than last year. This year, 10 foreign tourists have visited the Apinampa Conservation Area.
As the Api nampa Conservation Area is full of natural diversity, it can attract both internal and external tourists. Attention should be paid to increase the number of tourists in the area. There is no doubt that the number of tourists visiting the Api nampa Conservation Area will increase if they can be easily accommodated and transported. Hoteliers need training on how to welcome tourists and how to make arrangements for accommodation .Similarly, some understand that the physical infrastructure needs to be improved to attract internal and external tourists to the conservation area. Road access to the conservation area, arrangement of helpers, accommodation and accommodation should be provided.
It is a must-visit destination for everyone, with its enchanting landscape of beautiful mountains, serene environment, easy view of various places, rare animals, birds, and valuable herbs. It is seen that if the government of the conservation area can spread propaganda through the national media, it will still be possible to attract tourists.
In addition to this, even if easy access to transportation is established, it will be possible to attract internal and external tourists to the conservation area.
