Nepal is a sovereign independent nation. Nepal has its own national flag. Nepal’s national flag is triangular in shape. Nepal’s national flag is the only non-quadrilateral national flag in the world and one of only two quadrangular government flags (the other flag is from the state of Ohio in the United States). The flag of Nepal is made up of two triangles (one above the other). In the upper triangle there is a crescent moon and in the lower one there is a sun, which indicates that Nepal will remain as long as the moon and sun remain in the sky.

According to its researchers, before using the national flag, soldiers used to tie different colored cloths on the battlefield. Although no concrete evidence of the date of the flag’s use has been found so far, colored clothing was flown at certain locations to gather troops on the battlefield. Later, these garments were used in special shapes and colors on the battlefield as the national flag. By the 19th century, each country had chosen and used its own national flag.
It is said that cloth flags were first used by China, India or Romans, but this has not been confirmed. Evidence has been found that a white flag was used during the Zhao Dynasty in China in 1126 BC.
The world’s oldest national flag is considered to be the Danish flag, which was first used in 1219. Then in 1339, Switzerland also used its national flag. By the 19th century, each country had chosen its own national flag. In the United States, JL Hudson made the largest flag in the world.
Built on June 14, 1949, the flag was 325 feet long and 104 feet wide. Weighing 1,500 pounds, the flag was flown in the United States on June 14 each year, a practice that continues to this day. The 50 stars on the American flag indicate 50 states. Similarly, India’s tricolor, meaning three colors, signifies heroism, peace and prosperity.
