Among the highest hills in the eastern hills, Tyamke Dada is the tallest (3620 m) and famous hill. Darjeeling and Kathmandu can also be seen from Tamke before sunrise in clear weather. Devithan is located at Tyamke Dada on the border of Khotang and Bhojpur districts. Earlier, the goddess of Tyamke was in a lake called Rupathumki under Lekharka VDC of Bhojpur district and it is said that she moved to Tamke from there.

A Brahmin from Kavre, Bhojpure, lived in Rupathumki with a cowshed. One night in a dream, the goddess said to the herdsman, “I do not live here. Dolibaja and take me to Tamke. I’ll give you a calf. ‘ Surprised by such an amazing dream, the next morning, the cowherd returned by setting up a stone idol that could only be lifted by the goddess Muskil from Rupathumki to Tyamke. After reaching the cowshed, he ate rice and removed the item.

In the evening, 49 cows were tied up in Damla-Kila, but one cow is yet to be tied up. Of the 49 cows and calves, one has been added and the number has reached 50. The goddess gave a calf to the herdsman as per her dream. Having a calf in this way increases the faith and trust in a goddess like that. And every morning from the next day, he would reach Tyamke and offer cow’s milk to the goddess.

In the meanwhile, while offering milk for a while, in the remote forest of Tyamke, a coyote spoke like a coyote: ‘So who is it? So who Who cares ??? Tell me who it is ??? ’A herdsman like that said in a trembling voice: I am a cowherd from Kavre downstairs, I have come here to offer milk to De-Vee! ‘ Tell me, what do you want ??? ‘And he joined both hands and said: “My child, do not let goras (milk) in every child!”

The shepherd’s offspring are still spreading like wildfire. Even now, children like him who raise a lot of cows and buffaloes have never had milk in their grandchildren’s house.

Triveni Religious Site Halesi Mahadev

Halesidham, the confluence of Kirat, Hindu and Buddhist religions, is one of the many pilgrimage and tourist sites in Nepal. According to Hindu mythology, in the Satya Yuga, when Mahadev Bhang-Dhatura was intoxicated and semi-conscious, a demon named Bhasmasura asked for the gift of ‘Whoever I put my hand on his head should be burnt to ashes’.

In Bhang, even the lazy Mahadev gave the gift of ‘Tathastu’ without thinking. However, after receiving the gift, Bhasmasura tried to put his hand on Mahadev’s head. Fearing for his life, Mahadev broke through this hill of Halesi and entered the rock. There is a legend that he disappeared.
