Tulsipur : The official inauguration of the year of visit is taking place on January 1, 2020. A district level tourism promotion committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the coordinator of the district coordination committee to welcome the visit year in Dang.
Similarly, a year-round program is being formulated by forming municipality level tourism promotion committees at all the ten local levels of the district. Some local levels have formed committees to publicize the program. Hoteliers and transport businessmen in the district are also involved in the publicity of the year.
Tulsipur Sub-metropolis has started work to make the visit year 2020 grand. The natural, cultural, religious and various tourist destinations of the region have been identified and the ‘Let’s go for a walk in Tulsipur’ campaign has been launched.
A 21-member district level committee has been formed with the participation of people from different sectors under the coordination of the head of the district coordination committee. Similarly, a secretariat has been set up to make the work effective and expeditious. Chief of the District Coordination Committee and Coordinator of the District Level Tourism Promotion Committee Jitendra Man Nepali said that the committee has also started work.
The tourism year will be inaugurated on December 3 from the Barhakune temple premises of Ghorahi Sub-metropolis-13.
The slogan for the tourism year in the district is ‘Our desire for tourism development, prosperity of Dang’. We have been holding discussions with all the municipalities of the district on tourism promotion.
“After welcoming the visit year, all the local levels will hold their own programs,” said Nepali. “We are discussing to make the visit year grand.”

‘Let’s go for a walk in Tulsipur’ campaign to increase tourists

Tulsipur sub-metropolitan city is expected to attract tourists from Rapti Peace Inauguration, Chhillikot shrine, Chamere cave, homestay, observation of Tharu culture, state-of-the-art sports arena, historical destination of Sanskrit education, Nepal Sanskrit University and dozens of other areas, said Tulsipur sub-metropolitan city chief Ghanshyam Pandey. “We are preparing to attract at least one lakh tourists both internally and externally,” said Pandey.
The municipality is preparing to start the year of visit from Ganeshpur-based Shanti Park in Tulsipur. He also said that a program will be organized in all the wards of the sub-metropolis to highlight the tourist identity.
Preparations for Tourism Festival in Ghorahi
On the occasion of Nepal Tourism Year 2020, Ghorahi Sub-metropolis is going to hold a tourism festival in Ghorahi to promote tourism. On the occasion of Nepal Tourism Year 2020 announced by the Government of Nepal, Ghorahi Sub-metropolis is planning to hold a tourism festival to promote art and culture in the municipality as well as to increase the number of tourists in religious and tourist places, said Bal Krishna Khanal, chief of Ghorahi sub-metropolitan tourism branch.
For this, the Tourism and Culture Promotion Committee of Ghorahi Sub-metropolis has been formed. According to Khanal, the head of the branch, the committee will plan the program on the occasion of the visit year.
There are dozens of artificial reservoirs along with Pandaveswar Dham Dharapani, Barhakune Daha, Ambikeshwari Temple and Chaughera Temple, which is claimed to be the world’s tallest trident in the religious and tourist sites within Ghorahi Sub-metropolis.
“The festival is planned to promote the arts, culture and local products in Ghorahi municipality,” Khanal said. “The festival will not be like a trade festival.” Khanal said that there is a plan to display the reflecting material in the exhibition.
It is expected to help in the promotion of arts and culture as well as marketing of local products.
Similarly, for the development of tourist and religious places within Ghorahi sub-metropolis, interaction will also be held with the municipality connected with Ghorahi sub-metropolis. He said that discussions will be held with the municipalities in the district, Rumtigadhi of Rolpa and Swargadwari municipalities of Pyuthan district along with the development of tourist and religious sites in the two districts to bring the tourists to Dang and how to take the tourists to Dang.
