Gehendra Shumsher is the first scientist of Nepal. He is considered as one of the pioneer inventors of Nepali science as well as one of the pioneers of South Asia. After getting some education at home, he was admitted to Darwar High School to learn English. At school, he used to talk, think, talk about something new, be interested in sports and participate in other creative activities.

He was very interested in scientific inventions and as much as possible he studied and researched deeply about which scientists discovered what and how they did it.
After his father, Veer Shamsher Shri 3 Maharaj, became the Prime Minister in 1942, his consciousness and art got a chance to see and develop something new. Her father, Vir Shamsher, was deeply interested in her technology.
Taking this desire into account, the brave Shamsher decided to send him to Japan. Until then, he had been made head of government and court weapons. While in Japan, he had the opportunity to do a lot of research and cooperation on weapons. He gained a lot of knowledge about technology.
The old people of that time used to say that the sound of that slow cannon could be heard in all four corners of Kathmandu Valley. Everyone knew that when the mountain shook, the cannon opened. It was often used in royal salutes.
It is said that the Rana was very happy with his invention. He used to be highly praised in the Rana family. During the time of Dev Samsher, he was also sent to Japan to learn technology there.
He worked hard to study the technology there. He also brought a lot of improvements in Nepal’s technical field after returning home.
New weapons with improvements began to be made in Nepal. It also greatly improved militarization.Nepal’s military training and commercialization have improved. But unfortunately, at that time, on the occasion of the decade of 1963, Gehendra decided to present the new pistol he had made to the then Shri 3 Chandra Shamsher as a gift.
He worked hard to make a small pistol that could be easily hidden anywhere. He went to the palace with this hard-made pistol in his coat pocket.
It proved to be both a gift and a curse for him.
At that time, he emphasized that one should not always rely on weapons bought and bought from abroad and that one should build them in the country itself. He did not like the limits of the weapons he bought and the foreign control over them. He planned to produce his own indigenous weapons in Nepal, as well as ammunition and ammunition.
It is said that when he became the head of the Arms and Arms Armory, he used to build the arms, ammunition and other provisions needed by the then Nepal Army in Nepal under his own leadership and fulfill the needs of the army.
At that time, small metal industries, water mills, rice mills, windmills and ghats and hydropower plants were set up in places like Sundari Jal, Balaju, Jamal and Meghchan in Bhojpur.

A year later, Gehendra Shamsher died a very mysterious death. It is said that Chandra Shamsher had a hand in it. But evidence has not yet been found .
