This attractive waterfall is becoming anonymous due to lack of publicity. The waterfall falls 10 km northeast of Jaumbari under the Chainpur-Barhabise road section. The three-tiered waterfall is 191 meters high.
The summer season, the cold water of the waterfall cascading down from the high cliffs, the forest covered with gurans, the water of the waterfalls freezes and reaches the swimming pool. Ghorle Falls is reached by observing the world’s fifth highest Makalu Himal and wild animals through the world’s Hocho Valley and Arun Valley which gets thorny vultures. The highest point of the waterfall is 9 meters, the lower 65 meters and the last 117 meters and 191 meters high.
Ghorle Jharna has attracted many people with its beauty. Hundreds of domestic tourists have started visiting Ghorle Jharna in Panchkhapan Municipality of Sankhuwasabha daily. Ghorle Jharna has become known as a new tourist destination. Crowds of internal and external tourists have started flocking to see the waterfall, which is a two-hour drive from the district headquarters Khandbari.
The highest waterfall of the waterfall, which flows from Sabun’s Kusuwa Khela, is 9 meters, the lower 65 meters and the last 117 meters, which is 191 meters high. Publicity and feasibility study of this waterfall is also being done. Last year, a budget of Rs 1 million was allocated for the construction of roads from the Parliamentary Development Fund to develop Jharna as a tourist destination.
The track was opened from Jaumbari of Chainpur-Barhabise road section to Danda village of Jharna road. With that amount, work has been done to open a track from Jaumbari of Chainpur-Barhabise road section to Danda village on the road to Jharna. The waterfall is about 11 kilometers northeast of Jaumbari.
The municipality had allocated Rs. 800,000 for road maintenance from Ghorle Jharna in 2073 BS and 2074 BS. This year, Rs 2 million has been allocated from the state government and Rs 500,000 from the municipality. Chairperson of the Center Durga Nilam Shrestha said that infrastructure development work is being carried out with the said amount.
The Center had organized a one-day interaction program on Ghorle Waterfall Conservation, Promotion and Publicity in Panchkhapan Municipality last year. The participants of the program had said that the development of the waterfall should be carried out by making a master plan in the coming days.
Not only that, the number of tourists visiting Ghorle waterfall has increased and a stone staircase has been constructed at 270 meters. There are also people who come to eat picnics and have fun. On April 22 alone, 1,000 tourists had come to the waterfall for entertainment. Local bodies have also shown interest in conserving this waterfall, which has potential for tourism.
According to Ratnamani Bogati, a local, the waterfall has attracted the attention of the entire district. Chief of the District Coordination Committee Sankhuwasabha Suman Shakya had also gone on a study visit after the unnamed Ghore Jharna was suddenly discussed. It is believed that there is a place of Goddess Panchakanya at the head of this waterfall which is associated with religious beliefs. Local Bhim Bahadur Budhathoki said that the religious beliefs of Nageshwar Mahadev Cave near the waterfall are also connected. According to the legend, Mahadaval bathed in the waterfall and stayed in the cave and the origin of Nageshwar Mahadev cave is found.
But to make the waterfall a religious and tourist destination, the Ghorle Waterfall Tourism Development Center was established last year. At the initiative of the center, Ghorle Jharna is being supported by various levels of government to develop tourism. In the Fiscal Year 2072/07, a budget of Rs. 1 million was allocated from the Parliamentary Development Fund for road construction. The track of the road leading to the waterfall was opened with the said amount.
