Dakshinkali Temple : The Dakshinkali municipality, which has ample potential for religious and cultural tourism, will be developed as a pocket area for pear and lapsi. The Pharping area in Ward No. 8 is already famous as a place to get pears. The Bagmati state government has also declared Pharping as a pear block. Humane Bhanjyang of Ward No. 9 has been declared as Lapsi Block.
Ramche Bhanjyang of Ward No. 8 is also being developed as a Lapsi block. Mayor Mohan Basnet informed that the municipality has also allocated budget to develop the urban area where pear and lapsi are good as an exemplary place for both the products. He also said that wards 6 and 7 of the municipality are being developed as hubs for floriculture. The municipality has stated that infrastructure has been prepared for the development of each ward of the nine-ward urban area as a production hub.
Vedic village in Champadevi-Dakshinkali Temple
It is being developed as a tourist destination as the White House hill under Champadevi of the municipality can be seen from important places of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts. Nepal Maharshi Vedic Foundation has completed the construction of Vedic village on 27 ropanis of land in Champadevi. Mayor Basnet said that work is underway to inaugurate the Vedic village ten years ago.
The municipality hopes to attract millions of tourists annually with the construction of a Vedic village in Dakshinkali, which has been known as a famous pilgrimage site since ancient times. Chairman of the Foundation and former Minister of State for Home Affairs Deepak Prakash Banskota said that structures including meditation center, Vedic shrine, residence of Vedic Pandit and training center are being prepared in the Vedic village.
Educational tourism will be promoted in Yanglasi -Dakshinkali Temple
The municipality has stated that it is trying to promote Yanglasi, a holy place of pilgrimage for Buddhists in Ward No. 5, as an educational tourism. Thousands of Buddhists from all over the world still visit this place every year. Buddhists from all over the world pay homage to the soil by applying it on their foreheads.
The first Chandrajyoti Hydropower Plant in Nepal and the second in South Asia is being developed as a tourist destination with the support of the Bagmati State Government.
