Siddha Gufa And Rock Climbing : Bimalnagar, Bandipur Gaonpalika-4 of Tanahu is currently being developed as a tourist destination. The number of tourists is increasing day by day as Siddha Cave and Rock Climbing, considered to be the largest in South Asia, is the first choice for tourists in Vimalnagar. Lal Kumar Shrestha, chairman of the Siddha Cave Management Committee, said that the number of tourists visiting the cave has increased.
This cave is located on a hill 2 km east of Bimalnagar on the Prithvi Highway. Anyone can reach the cave which is about half an hour’s journey from Vimalnagar. The cave is also the center of attraction due to the various animals and the shapes and deities of the gods. Chairman Shrestha said that more than 200 internal and external tourists visit the 400-meter-long cave every day as various games are played there from time to time.
Tourist traffic has also increased for adventurous and recreational rock climbing in Vimalnagar. Tourists say that rock climbing and the natural beauty of the place are also enticing.
The 150-meter-long and 15-meter-wide rock is the best and longest climbing route in the highway area except in the Himalayan region, said Chairman Shrestha. He said that the number of rock climbing tourists has increased as tourists visiting the area connected to the Prithvi Highway can go rafting on the Marshyangdi River and also visit the Siddha Cave.
Currently, 11 climbing routes have been opened at a distance of two meters in Chunpahara and 22 people can climb at a time.Siddha Cave is located in Bandipur Municipality of Tanahu District. The cave can be reached after a few minutes walk from Bimalnagar on the Prithvi Highway. It is considered to be the largest cave not only in Nepal but also in Asia.
The depth of S cave is 437 meters. The height of S cave is 50 meters. It is believed that a saint ‘Siddha Baba’ attained enlightenment in this cave. People are flocking to S Cave to see the grace and absences of the same Baba. Although black and scary, this cave is the talk of the country and abroad.
As the poet Narayan Pokhrel said, various creators from seven states across the country not only sang the praises of Bandipur, they were captivated by the warm welcome given by the citizens here. They were forced to think about how to make their place like Bandipur. Some demanded an opportunity to do the same.
