Redact PDF – Permanently Hide Text
Black out names, numbers or any sensitive part of a PDF so it is removed for good, not just covered.
or drop it here
Your file is processed in your browser. It is not uploaded to any server.
How it works
Drag boxes over what you want to hide, or type a word and press Find to mark every match. Pages with boxes are flattened into images, so the hidden text is truly gone and cannot be copied or searched. Pages without boxes are kept as they are.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. This tool runs completely in your browser. Your PDF never leaves your device, so it is safe for private documents.
Why not just draw a black box?
A drawn box hides text on screen, but the text is still in the file and can be copied. Redaction removes it.
