How it works
Enter your monthly basic salary and allowances. Dashain (festival) allowance is one month's basic salary by default.
SSF: you pay 11% of basic and your employer adds 20%. PF: 10% each. The employer's share is counted as income and the whole contribution is deducted as retirement savings, up to the legal limit. SSF members do not pay the 1% social security tax.
Rates for FY 2083/84 (2026/27) as set by the Finance Act 2083: one table for single and married people. Up to Rs 10 lakh: 1% (social security tax; not charged if you contribute to the Social Security Fund), Rs 10–15 lakh: 10%, Rs 15–25 lakh: 20%, Rs 25–40 lakh: 27%, above Rs 40 lakh: 29%.
Deductions: approved retirement contributions (SSF, PF, CIT) up to the lowest of your contribution, Rs 5,00,000 or one third of income; life insurance up to Rs 40,000; health insurance up to Rs 20,000; private building insurance up to Rs 10,000. Women whose income is only from employment get a 10% rebate.
This is an estimate for planning. Your employer or the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has the final calculation.
