Speaking Part 3: Discussion प्रश्न

IELTS Preparation – निःशुल्क IELTS कोर्स · करिब ५ मिनेट पढाइ · पूरा पाठ्यक्रम

सिक्ने लक्ष्य

  • Part 1 र Part 3 का प्रश्नबीचको फरक बुझ्न।
  • Opinion, comparison, prediction, cause–effect र hypothetical प्रश्न चिन्न।
  • Answer–Explain–Example–Conclude ढाँचामा विस्तारित उत्तर दिन।
  • Hedging र सोच्ने समय लिने phrase स्वाभाविक रूपमा प्रयोग गर्न।

मुख्य व्याख्या

Part 3 के हो?

Part 3 करिब 4–5 मिनेट को दुईतर्फी छलफल हो। प्रश्न Part 2 को विषयसँग जोडिएका हुन्छन्, तर व्यक्तिगत होइन, समाज र सामान्य मानिसबारे हुन्छन्। Examiner ले तपाईंको उत्तरमाथि थप प्रश्न (follow-up) पनि सोध्न सक्छन्।

Part 1Part 3
विषयतपाईंको जीवन (I, my)समाज, मानिस, भविष्य (people, society)
उदाहरण प्रश्नDo you like cooking? Why do fewer young people cook at home nowadays?
उत्तरको लम्बाइ२–४ वाक्य४–६ वाक्य (करिब 30–60 सेकेन्ड)
चाहिने सीपवर्णनतर्क, तुलना, अनुमान, मूल्याङ्कन

उच्च band का लागि Part 3 मा तपाईंले abstract विचार व्यक्त गर्न सक्नुपर्छ। यहाँ “सही उत्तर” छैन; तर्क कति स्पष्ट र भाषा कति लचिलो छ भन्ने हेरिन्छ।

उत्तरको ढाँचा: A–E–E–C

  1. Answer: सीधा धारणा। “I’d say yes, to some extent.”
  2. Explain: मुख्य कारण।
  3. Example: समाज, देश वा परिचित व्यक्तिको उदाहरण।
  4. Conclude / Contrast: अर्को पक्ष वा छोटो निष्कर्ष। “So overall, …”

Hedging: नरम, सन्तुलित भाषा

Part 3 मा “All young people are lazy” जस्ता निरपेक्ष कथनभन्दा सन्तुलित भाषा स्वाभाविक र परिपक्व सुनिन्छ:

  • Young people tend to spend more time online.
  • It’s likely that more people will work from home.
  • Generally speaking, older people prefer cash.

सोच्ने समय लिनु

गाह्रो प्रश्नमा केही सेकेन्ड सोच्न ठीक छ, तर मौन बस्नुभन्दा स्वाभाविक phrase प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्:

  • That’s an interesting question. I’ve never really thought about it, but…
  • Let me think… I suppose the main reason would be…
यी phrase हरेक उत्तरमा नदोहोर्‍याउनुहोस्। धेरै प्रयोग गर्दा रटेको जस्तो सुनिन्छ।

महत्वपूर्ण परिभाषा

  • Abstract question: व्यक्तिगत अनुभवभन्दा सामान्य विचार, कारण वा प्रवृत्ति सोध्ने प्रश्न।
  • Hedging: tend to, likely, generally जस्ता शब्दले दाबीलाई नरम बनाउनु।
  • Follow-up question: तपाईंको उत्तरमा आधारित examiner को थप प्रश्न।
  • Speculation: भविष्य वा काल्पनिक अवस्थाबारे अनुमान (would, might, could)।

उदाहरण

तलका प्रश्न Part 2 को “a skill you learned” विषयसँग जोडिएका छन्।

प्रश्न 1 (Opinion): What skills should children learn at school apart from academic subjects?

Transcript हेर्नुहोस्

Well, I’d say practical life skills are just as important as maths or science. I’m thinking of things like managing money or cooking a simple, healthy meal. A lot of young people leave school without knowing how to make a budget, and then they struggle when they start earning. So I think schools could easily include a short course on personal finance, maybe in the final two years.

A–E–E–C: Answer (life skills) → Example (money, cooking) → Explain (budget नजान्दा समस्या) → Conclude (personal finance course)। यहाँ Example र Explain को क्रम उल्टिएको छ; क्रम लचिलो हुन सक्छ, चारवटै भाग भए पुग्छ।

प्रश्न 2 (Comparison): Do older people find it harder to learn new skills than young people?

Transcript हेर्नुहोस्

Generally speaking, I think that’s true to some extent, but it depends on the skill. Older people may take a bit longer to learn something physical, like a new sport. On the other hand, they often have more patience than teenagers, which really helps with something like learning an instrument. My grandmother, for instance, learned to use video calls at seventy-five because she wanted to talk to my cousin abroad. So I’d say motivation matters more than age.

किन राम्रो: “to some extent”, “may”, “often” जस्ता hedging; दुवै पक्ष (On the other hand); व्यक्तिगत उदाहरणलाई सामान्य निष्कर्षसँग जोडिएको।

प्रश्न 3 (Prediction): How might the skills people need for work change in the future?

It’s hard to say for sure, but I imagine that technical skills will keep changing so quickly that the ability to keep learning will become the most valuable skill of all. Machines are likely to take over more routine tasks, so people will probably need to focus on things computers find difficult, such as creativity, teamwork and dealing with customers’ feelings. In that case, someone who can adapt quickly will have a real advantage over someone who learned one job twenty years ago and never updated their skills.

किन राम्रो: भविष्यका लागि “will probably”, “are likely to”, “I imagine”; result clause “so … that”; र तुलना “someone who… over someone who…”।

सामान्य गल्ती

  • Part 1 जस्तो छोटो उत्तर: “Yes, I think so.” मात्र भन्दा abstract विचार देखाउने मौका गुम्छ।
  • सधैं “I” र “my” मा फर्किनु: व्यक्तिगत उदाहरण ठीक छ, तर त्यसलाई “people in general” सँग जोड्नुहोस्।
  • निरपेक्ष कथन: “Everyone in Nepal uses TikTok.” → “Many young people in Nepal use TikTok.”
  • बनावटी तथ्यांक: “90% of people…” भन्नुभन्दा “a large number of people” भन्नुहोस्।
  • Hypothetical मा गलत grammar: “If transport is free, people will…” को सट्टा काल्पनिक प्रश्नमा “If transport were free, people would…”।
  • प्रश्न नबुझी उत्तर दिनु: Part 3 मा बुझिएन भने “Do you mean…?” भनेर स्पष्ट पार्न सकिन्छ।
दैनिक अभ्यास: समाचारको एउटा शीर्षक लिनुहोस् र “Why is this happening? Is it good or bad? What will happen next?”
