The Ubhauli festival celebrated by the Kirant-Rai community every year is celebrated on Thursday by worshiping at Bhumesthan. Research is being done on the subject of nature worship in order to make the land in the village work better before planting crops.The name Ubhauli Festival is also due to the fact that the people of this community rise from the valley to the lake due to the rising heat.
The Kirant community believes that wild animals including birds will rise from the full moon of Baisakh Shukla. It is said that the fish in the river also move to the lake from the river Besi to escape the heat.On the day of Margashirsha Shukla Purnima, the people who have fallen a lot to avoid winter by bringing in crops have been getting up since Thursday. Umbo also means good agriculture, abundance and prosperity. Chandi dance is also danced on the occasion of this festival. For this reason, the day of Baisakh Shukla Purnima is also called Chandi Purnima.Sakela dance is also danced between different communities of Kirant community.
Due to the ongoing lockdown to avoid infection with the corona virus for a month and a half this year, only certain people have been prepared to complete the ritual of worship. Kirant Rai Yayokha is preparing to complete the ritual of worship by gathering some people at Sakelasthan in Hattiwan of Lalitpur in the capital.

This festival is celebrated every year from the full moon day of Baisakh for 15 days. Similarly, Udhauli is celebrated on the full moon of Mansir.It is customary to celebrate Sakela with drums and zyamta in Umbholi. The Kirat community gathers in one place to share their joys and sorrows, get to know each other, and dance to the tunes of their respective castes in costumes that reflect their culture.
