The district headquarters of Dhaulagiri, Gandaki and Lumbini zones have been seen at the same time due to the removal of the surrounding towel. From here, Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and other mountain ranges can be seen at the same time. The Panchase Area Development Committee has stated that 100 to 400 tourists visit the area daily. Internal as well as external tourists come to visit with their families.

Some come in the morning and return in the evening and some stay in the tent. The number of young people coming to visit is higher. “When I came here two years ago, I was not able to enjoy the beauty of Panchase like this,” said Praveen Gurung, who came to Panchase with a friend from Pokhara. He also said that he got to take a lot of photos.

The number of people coming on educational tours has also increased after Tuwalo was removed so that the view from Panchase could be easily seen. Students and teachers from Parbat, Syangja, Pokhara, Chitwan, Kathmandu and other districts have been coming on educational tours. Panchase, located at an altitude of 2,517 meters, lacks adequate hotels and shops, which is a problem for tourists.

The number of visitors has almost doubled compared to the previous year. The Panchase Area Development Committee informed that arrangements have been made to build a community building as the visitors have problems for accommodation. Most tourists reach Panchase via Bhadaure Tamagi, Mountain Pictures, Arthur and Syangja in Kaski. Tourists reach Panchase on foot due to lack of transportation.

The locals have started to be active as the number of tourists will definitely increase if the hotels are brought into operation adequately targeting the tourists. According to Sushiladevi Gurung, chairperson of the Chitre Homestay Steering Committee, the number of people staying at Chitre and Arthur’s homestays in the evening and waking up in the morning to see the sunrise and the view of the mountain range is significant.

After reaching Dimuwa of the mountain from the beautiful tourist city of Pokhara by a road of about 38 kilometers, one can reach Kholapari village in Chitre VDC of the mountain by traveling on a dirt road for about an hour. After crossing the river for three hours on foot, you can reach a beautiful mine. Those who reach the Panchase hill located at an altitude of 2,517 meters say, what a unique Panchase.

At the confluence of the Parbat, Kaski and Syangja, those who reach Panchase Danda rest for a while on the hill with the tiredness of walking uphill and become captivated by capturing the beautiful scenery around. Tourists feel more thrilled after seeing Baidan Lake in Panchase Lake. Baidan Lake, located at an altitude of 2,509 meters above sea level, is 110 meters long and 20 to 25 meters wide.

About 10 meters deep, the lake is surrounded by forests. Baidan Lake, also known as Panchkoshi Panchase, is the most beautiful jewel of Panchase Lake. There is a Barahi temple near the lake. Another interesting aspect is that the source and drainage of water in Baidan Lake is not visible. Another interesting fact is that there are no leaves in the lake near the forest.

It is believed that even if the leaves fall in the lake, they will not stay in the lake as the birds will throw them away immediately. Panchase Lake overlooks the mountain ranges of Machhapuchhre, Annapun and Dhaulagiri to the north, Srinagar hill of Palpa to the south and the plains of Terai.

Looking back to Pokhara from the Panchase View Tower, one can see not only Pokhara Bazaar and Fewatal, but also Kushma, Phalewas, Dahareko Lake, Karkineta, Bhadaure of Syangja, Andhikhola. Tourists are thrilled to see many beautiful views of Myagdi, Gulmi and Baglung while standing in Panchase Lake. Panchase, inhabited by Gurungs, is one of the limited places in Dhaulagiri and Gandaki zones in terms of rural trekking.

To reach Panchase, you have to drive to Fewatal, Pame and Bhadaure in Kaski and then walk for three to four hours. Panchaase can be reached in three hours by walking through Lumle, Kande, Bhadaure and Deurali of Kaski and by walking for two hours through Kushma, Dimuwa, Chitre and Artha.

In winter, the jeep reaches Panchase Bhanyang from Dimuwa of the mountain, passing through Chitre and Syangja’s Fedikhola, Arukharkurku. Even though there is a motor facility to reach Panchase now, the joy of walking is different. Many domestic and foreign tourists reach Panchaase on foot.

Not only this, students from colleges and schools of Gandaki and Dhaulagiri used to go on educational tours in Panchase, but now even students from the capital have started going on educational tours. After seeing the scenery of different places from Panchase, the tourists stay in tents at the houses of the locals, hotels and campsites of Bhanjyang. Panchaase also carries historical and religious significance.

The forts of the twenty-four kings, the temples, caves and chaityas of the twenty-four kings, which were inhabited by the five Pandavas while they were in hiding, are the places of interest in the Panchase region. In Panchaase, in Balachatudashi, there is a lot of people who sow seven seeds, and at other times, there are people who go for a walk.

Of the 5,500 hectares of forest area in Panchase, 1,700 hectares has been handed over to the forest community. Panchaase has 589 varieties of flowers, 150 medicinal herbs, 56 species of wild apples, 98 varieties of unyu and eight species of fibrous plants. The forests of the Panchaase region are home to a wide variety of wildlife, including birds and rare black bears.

There are more than a dozen pastures in this area. According to local Suk Bahadur Gurung, buffaloes from Parbat, Kaski and Syangja will be released for grazing in these pastures. Construction of roads, hospices, drinking water and other infrastructures has been started here as Panchase is becoming a tourist destination.

The mountain has also made a comprehensive master plan to attract internal and external tourists. About two hours uphill from Chitre VDC of Parbat, various wetland lakes and ravines make the tourist’s mind happy. After reaching Siddhababa’s temple, everyone is fascinated as if they should never go back. Tourists visiting Panchase in groups are welcomed with Panche Baja from the picture below.

Panchase-Notes Nepal

Tourists are taken to the Panchase hill without chanting and laughing while chanting the Panche Baja. Many mountains can be seen from Panchaase Danda at an altitude of 784 meters to 2517 meters. Panchaaase also fulfills the desire of sunrise and sunset. The biodiversity of the Panchaase region spread over an area of 5,500 hectares is truly remarkable.

Defining the tourism sector as the backbone of economic development, the state has not been able to recognize the tourism sector as an industry. The amount allocated for the protection, promotion and publicity of the tourism sector is not by working, but by working together. Probably because of the Nepali geography, nature and art culture that can attract tourists wherever they go,

Nepal’s tourism business has not yet been able to gain proper momentum. Apart from the efforts made at the local level and private investment, no meaningful steps have been taken by the state. But in any case, the responsibility of promoting the mines of beauty like Panchase, which the state has not been able to utilize well, is on everyone’s shoulders.
