The world’s tallest bungee and swing operation in the gorge of Kaligandaki
The world’s tallest bungee and swing (ping) has come into commercial operation on a half-kilometer-long bridge built at the gorge of Kaligandaki connecting Kushma, the mountain’s headquarters, and Balewa, Baglung. Bungee, Swing and Ping, the only sky cycling and slingshot style ping in Nepal made by The Cliff Pvt. Adventure sports projects have been completed with an investment of around Rs. 280 million. The company has stated that hundreds of domestic tourists have started flocking daily after the company formally launched all the adventure tourism games since last Monday.
The construction of the attractive bridge, which hangs on a 525-meter-long log in the deep gorge of Kaligandaki, was started in 2073 BS. Although the construction of the resort was completed at the end of 2076 BS along with bridges, bungee and sky cycling, it could not come into operation due to the lockdown caused by the global spread of corona virus.
“We were thinking of opening all the adventure tourist destinations for tourists in the new year itself,” said Raju Karki, chairman of the company. “Even though the lockdown has stopped, we have now started the service by fulfilling all the health standards.” Hundreds of domestic tourists have started flocking daily after the company formally launched all the adventure tourism games on October 30.
A jumping platform for bungee and swing has been constructed just above the Kaligandaki river in the middle of the 525 meter long suspension bridge. The height of the bridge from the river is 228 meters or 748 feet. At present, the world’s tallest bungee is 764 feet high in Macau and the second tallest is 720 feet above the dam in Switzerland.

Prabhu Bank has also provided loan assistance to the project with the investment of Chairman Yuvraj Joshi, Netra Prasad Parajuli, Florence Karki, Rajan Joshi and Nawaraj Sharma. It is said that the investment of the bridge built for bungee and swing alone is more than Rs. 80 million. The operator said that the bridge can be crossed by paying Rs. 120.
