Read the passage and answer the question. Should schools teach young people how to manage money? I believe they should. Many students leave school able to solve complex equations but unable to read a payslip, compare interest rates or understand why a cheap loan can become expensive. Admittedly, the timetable is already crowded, and some teachers fear yet another subject. But financial education need not be a separate subject at all. Maths lessons could use real examples, such as calculating the true cost of buying a motorbike in instalments. Students would practise the same skills while learning something they will use for the rest of their lives. What is the writer's main argument?
सही उत्तर: ख) Schools should teach students practical money skills.
The writer states 'I believe they should' teach young people to manage money and gives reasons.

Read the passage and answer the question. Hi Sanjay and Pema, Now that we've moved in, let's agree how to share the costs. The rent is Rs. 24,000 a month. Because my room is much bigger and has its own bathroom, I suggest I pay Rs. 10,000 and you two pay Rs. 7,000 each. The internet costs Rs. 1,500 a month, and I think we should split it equally. Electricity changes every month, so let's divide each bill by three when it arrives. If you're both happy with this, I'll set up an automatic transfer to the landlord on the first of every month. Let me know by Friday. Bikash What is the main purpose of the message?
सही उत्तर: क) to propose a way of sharing costs and ask for agreement
Bikash suggests how to split each cost and asks his flatmates to reply by Friday.

Read the passage and answer the question. Many people feel sick when they read in a moving car. One widely accepted explanation is 'sensory conflict'. The balance organs in the inner ear sense the car's movement, but the eyes, fixed on a page that is not moving, report that the body is still. The brain receives two different messages and reacts with dizziness and nausea. This is why passengers are often advised to look at the horizon, which allows the eyes to see the same movement that the ears feel. Interestingly, drivers rarely suffer from motion sickness, perhaps because they can predict every turn the car will make. Which word in the passage suggests the writer is not completely certain why drivers rarely feel sick?
सही उत्तर: क) perhaps
'Perhaps' signals that the explanation offered is only a possibility.

Read the passage and answer the question. After my grandmother died, I found her recipe notebook in the kitchen drawer. I had expected neat lists of ingredients, but most of the pages were full of crossed-out words, stains and notes such as 'a handful of rice flour' or 'salt until it tastes right'. At first this frustrated me, because I wanted exact measurements. Then I realised that she had never needed them. She cooked by smell and touch, and the notebook was not really a set of instructions; it was a record of fifty years of experiments. Now, when I cook her sel roti, I add a little more sugar than she did, and I write my own changes in the margins. What does the last sentence suggest about the writer?
सही उत्तर: ग) She is continuing her grandmother's habit of adapting recipes.
By adding her own changes in the margins, the writer is doing what her grandmother did: experimenting and recording.
