551. Read the passage and answer the question. A cinema in Lalitpur once sold popcorn in two sizes: small for Rs. 150 and large for Rs. 350. Most customers chose the small size. The manager then added a medium size for Rs. 320. Very few people bought the medium, but sales of the large size rose sharply. Economists call this the 'decoy effect'. The medium option was never meant to sell well; its purpose was to make the large size look like a bargain, because for only Rs. 30 more the customer received much more popcorn. Shops and restaurants use the same trick with drinks, phone plans and magazine subscriptions. Why did the manager introduce the medium size?
