सिक्ने लक्ष्य
- Listening: Fill in the Blanks को format र scoring बुझ्ने।
- Audio सुरु हुनुअघि transcript skim गरेर blank को प्रकार अनुमान गर्ने।
- सुन्दै गर्दा छिटो type गर्ने वा छोटो संकेत लेख्ने तरिका सिक्ने।
- Grammar (plural, tense) र spelling जाँचेर अंक जोगाउने।
मुख्य व्याख्या
Task को format
Screen मा एउटा recording को transcript देखिन्छ, तर केही शब्दको ठाउँमा खाली box हुन्छन्।
Recording बज्दा तपाईंले transcript पछ्याउँदै हरेक box मा सुनेको शब्द type गर्नुपर्छ। Recording एकपटक मात्र बज्छ।
Audio सुरु हुनुअघि केही सेकेन्डको समय हुन्छ। यही समयमा transcript मा नजर दौडाउनु सबैभन्दा उपयोगी हुन्छ। (हालको सही समय Pearson को official handbook मा जाँच्नुहोस्।)
Scoring
- यो integrated task हो: Listening र Writing दुवै score मा योगदान दिन्छ।
- हरेक blank मा सही र सही spelling भएको शब्द बापत अंक पाइन्छ।
- Spelling गलत भए त्यो blank को अंक पाइँदैन, शब्द सही सुनिए पनि।
- Negative marking छैन। अनुमान गरेर भए पनि हरेक blank भर्नुहोस्।
तीन चरणको strategy
१. Audio अघि: skim गर्नुहोस्
- Transcript को पहिलो वाक्य पढेर विषय बुझ्नुहोस्।
- हरेक blank अघि-पछिको शब्द हेरेर अनुमान गर्नुहोस्: noun, verb, adjective? Singular कि plural?
- जस्तै “a special ______ known as” मा singular noun चाहिन्छ।
२. Audio बज्दा: पछ्याउनुहोस् र type गर्नुहोस्
- Mouse pointer वा आँखाले transcript का शब्द audio सँगै पछ्याउनुहोस्।
- Blank आउनेबित्तिकै शब्द type गर्नुहोस्। Typing छिटो छैन भने पहिले दुई-तीन अक्षर मात्र लेख्नुहोस् (जस्तै “dir” for direction)।
- एउटा blank छुट्यो भने त्यहीँ नअड्किनुहोस्। अर्को blank मा ध्यान सार्नुहोस्।
३. Audio पछि: पूरा गर्नुहोस् र जाँच्नुहोस्
- आधा लेखिएका शब्द पूरा गर्नुहोस्।
- छुटेको blank का लागि वाक्यको grammar र अर्थबाट सबैभन्दा सम्भावित शब्द लेख्नुहोस्।
- Plural “-s”, past tense “-ed”, third person “-s” जाँच्नुहोस्।
- अन्त्यमा हरेक शब्दको spelling अक्षर-अक्षर हेर्नुहोस्।

महत्वपूर्ण परिभाषा
- Transcript: Recording मा बोलिएका शब्दहरूको लिखित रूप।
- Skimming: विवरणमा नगई सामान्य विषय बुझ्न छिटो पढ्ने तरिका।
- Weak form: छिटो बोल्दा कमजोर वा अस्पष्ट सुनिने अंश, जस्तै शब्दको अन्तिम “-s” वा “-ed”।
- Spelling accuracy: शब्दका सबै अक्षर सही क्रममा लेख्नु; यस task मा अंकको शर्त।

सामान्य गल्ती
- एउटा blank मा अड्किनु: छुटेको शब्द सोच्दा अर्को दुई blank पनि छुट्छन्।
- Plural र tense बिर्सनु: “experiment” र “experiments” फरक उत्तर हुन्; एउटा मात्र सही हुन्छ।
- मिल्दोजुल्दो आवाज भएका शब्द: source/sauce, accept/except, affect/effect। अर्थ र grammar ले छुट्याउनुहोस्।
- Spelling जाँच नगर्नु: Exam मा spell-check हुँदैन, त्यसैले आफैं जाँच्नुपर्छ।
- Blank खाली छोड्नु: Negative marking नभएकाले grammar मिल्ने अनुमान लेख्नुहोस्।
