Task
Scoring
- Topic:
- Reasons:
Note-taking: Speaker table

| That’s fair / Good point |
| So, there seems to be agreement… |

Tutor: Today's question is whether first-year students should be required to live on campus. Maya, what do you think? Maya: I'm in favour. Living in halls helps new students make friends quickly, and they're close to the library and lectures. Tom: I partly agree, but cost is a big issue. Campus rooms are often more expensive than sharing a flat in town, and some students simply can't afford them.

Aisha: I think a rule is too strict. Students who live with family nearby would be paying for something they don't need. Maya: That's fair. Maybe the university could offer campus places to everyone, but not force them. Tom: Yes, and if they offered cheaper rooms or grants, more people could choose it. Tutor: So, there seems to be agreement: campus living has benefits, but it should be optional and more affordable.
नमुना notes
| Speaker | Position | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Maya | For (पहिले), पछि optional | friends quickly; close to library |
| Tom | Partly agree | cost: campus > flat in town |
| Aisha | Against compulsory rule | students living with family nearby |
| All / Tutor | Conclusion | benefits, but optional + cheaper (grants) |
Model summary
The group discussed whether first-year students should have to live on campus. Maya initially supported the idea, arguing that living in halls helps new students make friends and keeps them close to university facilities. Tom partly agreed, but he raised the issue of cost, since campus rooms are often more expensive than shared flats. Aisha opposed a strict rule because students who live with family nearby would pay for accommodation they do not need. In the end, the group agreed that campus living has benefits but should be optional and made more affordable, for example through cheaper rooms or grants.

The discussion was about students and campus. Maya said living in halls is good. Tom talked about money. Aisha also said something. I think living on campus is a great experience for everyone.
