PTE Summarize Written Text

PTE Academic Preparation – निःशुल्क PTE कोर्स · करिब ५ मिनेट पढाइ · पूरा पाठ्यक्रम

सिक्ने लक्ष्य

  • Summarize Written Text को form नियम र चार scoring traits बुझ्न
  • Passage को main idea, supporting points र conclusion छुट्याउन
  • Although / while / so / which जस्ता connector ले एउटै complex sentence बनाउन
  • Form गल्तीले पूरा item शून्य हुने जोखिम हटाउन

मुख्य व्याख्या

Task

Scoring traits

Traitके हेरिन्छ
Contentpassage का मुख्य बुँदा सही र पर्याप्त रूपमा समेटिए कि
Formएउटै वाक्य र निर्धारित शब्द सीमा भित्र
Grammarवाक्य संरचना सही छ कि
Vocabulary

  3. Passage को केन्द्रीय तर्क वा निष्कर्ष पहिचान गर्नुहोस्: ‘however’, ‘as a result’, ‘therefore’ वरिपरि खोज्नुहोस्।
  4. Connector ले जोड्नुहोस् र अन्तिम 2 मिनेट जाँचमा लगाउनुहोस्।

एउटै वाक्य बनाउने connector

Connectorसम्बन्धढाँचा
Although / WhileविरोधाभासAlthough A, B.
because / sinceकारणA because B.
so / therefore (comma सहित)परिणामA, so B.
which / thatथप जानकारीA, which B.
and / butथप वा विरोधA and B, but C.
; (semicolon)दुई सम्बन्धित clauseA; however, B.

  • Main idea: passage को केन्द्रीय सन्देश।
  • Supporting point: main idea लाई समर्थन गर्ने कारण वा उदाहरण।
  • Complex sentence: एउटा main clause र एक वा बढी subordinate clause भएको वाक्य।
  • Form: SWT मा एक वाक्य र शब्द सीमा पालना।
  • Paraphrase: अर्थ नबदली फरक शब्दमा भन्नु।

उदाहरण

अभ्यास passage

For most of the twentieth century, success in a city was measured by how quickly people and goods could move through it. Wide roads, flyovers and large car parks were treated as signs of progress, and planners often designed neighbourhoods around the needs of drivers rather than pedestrians.

In recent decades, however, a growing number of cities have begun to question this approach. Planners have observed that adding new roads frequently attracts more traffic instead of reducing congestion, a pattern sometimes described as induced demand. At the same time, concerns about air quality, public health and the cost of maintaining large road networks have pushed local governments to look for alternatives.

One response has been the idea of the fifteen-minute city, in which residents can reach shops, schools, clinics and parks within a short walk or bicycle ride from home. Supporters argue that this model reduces dependence on cars, strengthens local businesses and gives people more time for family and community life.

Critics, on the other hand, warn that such plans can be difficult to apply in areas where homes and workplaces are far apart, and that improvements in walkability may increase property prices, pushing lower-income families out of the very neighbourhoods being improved. As a result, many experts now believe that the success of these policies depends less on the design itself than on whether housing remains affordable.

Paragraph notes

ParagraphMain idea
1past: cities built for cars
2now questioned: more roads → more traffic; health, cost
315-minute city: less car use, local life
4critics: prices ↑ → poor pushed out; success = affordable housing

Model summary

Although many cities are replacing car-centred planning with walkable fifteen-minute neighbourhoods that reduce car dependence and support local life, critics warn that rising property prices may displace poorer residents, so the policy's success largely depends on keeping housing affordable.

Cities are moving away from car-focused planning. The fifteen-minute city reduces car use, but it may raise prices.

  • Traits: content, form, grammar, vocabulary; form गल्तीले सबै अङ्क गुमाउन सक्छ।
  • हरेक paragraph को main idea note गरी connector ले जोड्नुहोस्।
  • Passage को मोड र निष्कर्ष नछुटाउनुहोस्।
  • 30–55 शब्द लक्ष्य राख्नुहोस् र अन्त्यमा जाँच गर्नुहोस्।
