The nearby Whoopee Land Amusement and Water Park is attracting the attention of many from Ratna Park, the center of Kathmandu. Spread over an area of 60 ropanis, the park can accommodate 6,000 people at a time. The park has facilities like Jurassic safari, swimming, video games, bull ride, octopus ride. Manager Saurabh Basnet said that efforts are being made to attract more people by expanding additional facilities in the park, which has been in operation since July 8, 2010. The entrance fee to the park is Rs 650 and an additional Rs 100 has to be paid on Saturdays. There is a fee of Rs 600 for students, Rs 350 for children and Rs 450 for the disabled. The same fee has been fixed for both domestic and foreign.
Rain dance, ferry swell, aqua fun hill and other facilities have been added to the park. There is a provision of 100 lockers to keep luggage before swimming. The locker can hold luggage of 4-5 thousand people at a time. There are 9/9 change rooms for men and women. Whoopee Land has three international standard slides from India, China and Thailand.
