Pathibhara
Pathibhara is a religious tourist destination of Ilam. Pathibhara has become the main center of attraction for religious tourists mainly in Ilam.
This religious place, which falls under the Kolbung road section of the Mechi Highway, can be reached only after an hour’s drive from Jhapa Birtamod. Pathibhara is different from other tourist areas. Visitors come here to take vows and enjoy spiritual bliss. It is also a beautiful and quiet place surrounded by dense forests and high hills.
Over the past few years, the number of religious tourists has been increasing day by day and its popularity has also been increasing. Hotel and lodge facilities are being added for the visitors coming to Pathibhara. Due to the close proximity of Kanyam and Fikal Bazaar, tourists do not have to inconvenience to eat and stay here. Kanyam
Kanyam and the tea plantations here are the other most important places in the district that are most preferred by the tourists. This tourist spot belongs to Suryoday Municipality under Ilam Mechi Highway. After an hour’s drive from Jhapa Birtamod, you reach Fikal’s Kanyam Tea Plantation. Thousands of internal and external visitors come every day to see the beauty of Kanyam Tea Plantation.
Everyone is fascinated by the beauty of Kanyam. Seeing the green tea plantations around the Kanyam area, everyone likes to sign with this place. The picnic spot is full of people in the months of Kartik and Mansir. From Kanyam, you can enjoy the scenery of Darjeeling and Kalimpokong in India on horseback. Dhappokhari
Dhappokhari has become a tourist destination through the initiative of the community. Residents of Sandakpur Gaonpalika-5 Jamuna have brought boats into operation by turning the wetland area into a pond.
The 1,700-meter-high pond has been flooded with domestic tourists. The locals have a plan to facilitate fishing and fishing in the pond spread over an area of 50 ropanis. Hangetham, Choyatar, Dobate, Todke Jharna, Maipokhari, Jaubari and other places where Red Panda is found in Sandakpur are a must visit place for tourists.
Maipokhari
Maipokhari is listed as a tourist area in the Ramsar area, 13 kilometers north of the Ilam headquarters. Rare animals and plants, such as native carpets, lizards, tree frogs, and knuckles, and more than 300 species of birds, experts say. The 12 hectare area including the two hectare reservoir in Maipokhari at an altitude of 2121 meters is considered sensitive in terms of biodiversity.
There are also hotels in Maipokhari. Located at a distance of 9 km from Bibliante on the Mechi Highway, it is crowded with worshipers. The festival is held on the big Ekadashi after the festival.
The lake, which is widely spread in 9 corners as a symbol of Nava Durga, is beautiful, calm and still. The beauty of the lake is further enhanced by the surrounding pine and Gurans. Tourists are fascinated by the colorful fish in the lake. The reptile species found here and the world’s rare rhinoceros have different characteristics.

Sandakpur
Sandakpur is another famous sunrise place in Ilam. From Ilam Bazaar to Barbote Sulbung, Tinkune Bazaar road leads to Sandakpur. You can come here through Sukiya of India and Manebhanjyang of Nepal. Tourists come here even though Maipokhari is Mabu.
The specialty of Sandakpur is also different from other places. Tourists like to enjoy the snow and see the sunrise.
Due to the high altitude of Ilam (3636 m), it snows and feels cold here. From here, mountains like Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu can be seen.
As Nepal borders India, a large number of domestic and foreign tourists enter the country via India. Another attractive aspect of Sandakpur is the abundance of Gurans species found here. Gajurmukhi Dham
Gajurmukhidham is a religious place that can be reached after a 41-42 km motor journey from the Ilam headquarters to the western region. To reach here, one has to cross a concrete bridge connecting Dhuseni and Gajurmukhi from the district headquarters to Nepaltar, Mangalbare Bazaar. Gajurmukhi, on the banks of the Deumai, is frequented by religious believers.
There is a religious belief that swearing in the name of Gajurmukhi will bring success and success.It is believed that after taking a vow in Dham, one will succeed in the work that has failed and if one does not have children, one will have children and those who have stopped speaking will be given back the speech.

Siddhithumka Danda (Hill)
Another tourist destination for sunrise and sunset observation is Siddhithumkadanda. After traveling 14-15 km by road from the district headquarters, Siddhithumkadanda is reached. There is a legend that the name of this place was changed to Siddhithumka Danda as one can fulfill his wish by worshiping / worshiping in the temple located at Siddhithumka danda on the border of Soyak.
A spectacular view of sunrise and sunset can be seen from Siddhithumka hill in Deumai municipality. From here, you can see the panoramic view of Jhapa and Morang’s Lamatanna field. Shri Antu Danda

To reach this place, which is 14 kilometers east of Fikal in Ilam, you have to cross Siddhikhola by walking for 1 hour. From here, Kanchenjunga can be seen along with Karsang, Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Surya Kiran of neighboring countries.
Green tea plants can be seen everywhere in Antudanda, where thousands of tourists are fasting. The attractive lifestyle has fascinated the tourists and the endangered Lepcha Museum and the culture of the Lepcha people have added to the vibrancy of the tourism here.
Mangsebung (Larumba)
Mangsebung (Larumba) in Masebangu village municipality of the district is a famous place for the followers of Kirant religion. It is located at a distance of about 20, 21 kilometers west of the Ilam headquarters.
Known as the religious pilgrimage site of the Kirant devotees, the people here also call it a vegetarian city. Due to the large population of people of religious nature, smoking and drinking are not allowed here. Devotees from home and abroad come here every year on the occasion of the birth anniversaries of Mahaguru Falgunand and Angsimang Atmananda in Kartik and Mansir.
Todke waterfall
Todke Falls is the only famous and tallest waterfall in Ilam. The waterfall is located in the former Maimzhuwa VDC of the district, i.e. 2 Maimzhuwa in the present Sandakpur Gaupali. To reach this place at an altitude of 250 meters, one has to travel about two and a half hours by car from Ilam headquarters.
Todke Waterfall is the longest waterfall in the district and its importance has increased as it is an attractive waterfall. The mind is thrilled by the greenery all around and the splashing waterfalls in the middle. Anyone with a waterfall likes to get wet for a while.
Another feature here is the red panda. Red panda (Habre) which is rare in Nepal is found in this area. The red panda has been specially protected in this place where tourists can enjoy immense entertainment.
