Temple In Nepal : Although special crowds have gathered at various temples and Shakti Peeths in Janakpur since the beginning of Navratra, the tradition of banning women from visiting the Rajdevi  from Ghatsthapana to Kojagrat Purnima remains.

The tradition of forbidding women to visit the Rajarshi Janakaki Kuldevi Rajdevi temple, located north of the Shri Ram mandir in Janakpur, the ancient capital of Mithila and now the temporary capital of Province No. 2, from Ghatsthapana to the Kojagrat full moon, is still going on. During that period, a window of the mandir is opened for women, and they have to return from the same window after worshiping.

According to temple priest Ram Giri, a woman entered the mandir to worship the goddess in ancient times and was barred from entering the temple as she was believed to have disappeared. Similarly, women with menstruation are also barred from entering the temple as they come for worship. Some speculate that women may have been barred from entering the temple because of the Tantric rituals.

Explaining that no woman has dared to leave the tradition and enter the period till now, Mahanta Giri says, Although the method of worship in Ram Mandir and Janaki Mandir in Dashain has not been changed in the constitution, there is a difference in the entrance of worship and the entrance of women. Even though women are not allowed to enter the temple from Ghatsthapana to Kojagrat Purnima, it will be open for them after that, said Mahanta Giri.

Rights activist Binod Ravidas considers banning women from entering the temple from Ghatsthapana to Navami as the culmination of religious superstition in the name of religion. In protest, the people of Janakpur have been demanding an end to such discrimination and untouchability against women. Temple in nepal

Roslyn Bachhar, a women’s rights activist and coordinator of the Women’s Rehabilitation Center in Dhanusha, says, “What a religion and culture! Where women are worshiped as a form of power, women are banned and abused in worship! Such traditions must be reformed. ”

Some locals say that it is not appropriate to disrespect the tradition that has been going on since time immemorial. Mithilesh Jha of Ghodghas in Nagarain Municipality says, “There is no point in challenging the traditions and religious beliefs.” Worship of gods and goddesses is done with the faith of the mind. He says there is no need to worship just by entering the mandir.

The villages around Bahakot in Kolha of Tanahu and Syangja were known as 4 Thum and 700 Kolma. Kolma Bahakot, Raipur, Oreste, Manakamana, Harinas and Pelkachaur were called 4 Thum. At the same time, Chitrebhanjyang and Girekot were connected. Kitchenas, Khairekot and Chisapani collaborated with 4 Thum.

The capital of Gandaki province, Located at a distance of 35 km from Pokhara ,Located at a distance of 35 km from Pokhara,  Syangja district has a lot of potential for tourism. Orkot, Kolma, Saldanda, Raipur, Bahakot, Maulakot of seven Sai households was called 700 Kolma. Kolma was the center of social, educational and sports.

At present, there are no sports activities to connect the villages. Once the city is chosen, there is no education center like before. Dozens of places in the district have been flooded with internal and external tourists, while a campaign is underway to attract tourists to many other places. Among the various places in Syangja, Kolma has also been a popular tourist destination in recent times.

Kolma is located in Putlibazar Municipality Ward No. 9, which is close to the border of Tanahu. Syangja can be reached in about 9 kilometers from Putlibazar Municipality, the district headquarters of Syangja, and Kolma can be reached in about 22 kilometers from Dulegauda in Tanahu. A gravel road has been constructed to reach Kolma. 4 Thum

Rental jeeps can be used to reach there. While some places in Syangja, which is close to Pokhara, are being covered, Kolma has been working for the promotion of tourism as a tourist destination lately. Kolma, which has a majority of Gurung, Magar, Brahmin and Chhetri communities, has traditional style houses, natural beauty of the village, organic food and typical homestays as the main tourist attractions.

Apart from this, the Kolmakot temple at Dada of Kolwa, the popular Ghatunach at Gurung Sumday, Gurung Salaijo, Jhora Sorathi, the Madal dance of the Magar community and the Chudka bhajan of the Brahmin community are also popular among the tourists. The Kolmakot temple in Kolma hosts fairs during festivals including Ward Dashain and Chaite Dashain. 4 Thum

In ancient times, the Kalika temple in Kolmakot was visited by locals from around 700 households, so there is a legend that this place is called 700 Kolma. From this Dada temple, one can also observe the districts including Syangja, Pokhara, Tanahu and Gorkha. Tourists will be mesmerized by the scenic beauty of half a dozen mountains, including Machhapuchhre and Dhaulagiri.

Like other villages in Nepal, foreign employment, recruitment into the Indian and British armies, the Gulf and the lure of Europe and the United States are making the villages deserted. As the houses in the village become vacant, the culture and traditions of the village are disappearing. The land is becoming barren. 4 Thum

When the villagers go in search of employment and facilities, they do not come to 4 Thum and 700 Kolma as before. But now the villagers are determined to wake up the four thums and 700 kolmas, invite tourists to the village and introduce the new generation to their village. The locals have started trying to connect the villages around Kolma on how to bring tourists to the villages and highlight the historical and cultural aspects of the place.

With the efforts of the villagers, local people’s representatives, MPs and those living abroad are shaking hands. Locals are competing in cross country races to connect and promote the villages around Kolma. The competition titled ‘Race for Health, Race for Nation’ will be held on January 10, according to the organizers.

Locals are busy preparing for the 14-kilometer race and the 31-kilometer race for the under-21 runners. In the race starting from Ward No. 9 of Putlibazar Municipality, the runners will return to Kolma Barahachaur by beating Ward No. 8, Ward No. 11 of Shuklagandaki and Ward No. 4 of Biruwa Municipality. 4 Thum

Man Bahadur Thapa, general secretary of the forum, said that the villages around Kolma are waiting for the arrival of the country’s famous artist along with the cross country race. “We are engaged in a campaign to turn foreigners away from living in the city,” Thapa said. “This is just the beginning.

4 Thum And 700 Kolma

We are constantly engaged in the campaign to awaken the village.” Lal Bahadur Gurung, advisor of the forum and youth coordinator of NRN UK, said that the new generation was not only unaware of their own village, but also the history and their homeland were being forgotten. The forum, which is preparing for the competition, has held discussions with local level representatives and state parliamentarians .

Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Vikas Lamsal said that the state government would cooperate in such programs. Stating that the state government has set a target of attracting 2 million tourists by 2022, Lamsal said, “Don’t just focus on this event.” The government has introduced a grant program to promote homestays. We are looking for a new tourist destination. Come and prepare a master plan, let’s cooperate.

Race for tourism promotion

The ‘Cross Country Race’ competition organized for the promotion of tourism in Kolma in January last year has been effective and will continue this year as the popularity of Kolma has increased nationally and internationally. A group of people living in Pokhara, who were born and raised in Kolma, have been working tirelessly to make their village, which has potential for tourism, internationally known only in the country.

The competition was organized to attract national and international tourists to his hometown of Kolma and the surrounding tourist villages and places. The competition, which will be held in the naturally and culturally rich Kolma, will also help the government. All the villages in Kolma are deserted and some of the youths are from Lahure and some have gone abroad for employment.

The locals have started efforts to connect the villages around Kolma with the aim of attracting tourists to the villages and highlighting the historical and cultural aspects. In the cross country race competition with the participation of about 200 people, 31 km open and 14 km race has been conducted in two disciplines.

Bhedetar

In 040, British Prince Charles Bhedetar came to visit. There was talk at the time that Charles was as happy as climbing Mt. Everest when he climbed to the top of Bhedetar. That is why Bhedetar’s highest point has been named ‘Charles Point’. It is located west of Bhedetar Bazaar. A 30-foot-tall tower now stands on the summit of Charles. This tower has now become a center of tourist attraction. When you climb the tower, you can see Dharan, Dhankuta, Saptakoshi’s field, Charkose bush and the beautiful fields of Tarai till you die. The view from the view tower in the morning is more captivating.

It costs Rs 5 per person to climb the tower and Rs 10 to go with a camera. The fee has been fixed at Rs 20 for Indian tourists and Rs 50 for tourists from other countries. More than seven thousand rupees is collected daily from that fee.Crowds go for picnics in Bhedetar from October to May. Visitors come from East Kakadbhitta to Janakpur. The same is true of young couples in hunting. Locals say that Bhedetar has even been named ‘Real Lover Station’. Married couples even come from Kathmandu to celebrate their honeymoon. Locals say that 50 percent of the tourists who come here are Indians.

Tourists do not just come to hunt for fun and enjoyment. The number of those who reach the nearby Pathibhara Devi temple and meditate spiritually is the same. Sagurigadhi, west of Bhedetar, Namaste Jharna, Rajarani, Namje Bazaar, 2 km north of Bhedetar, Asia’s largest bir tree is also located near it .These places of historical and religious significance have also attracted tourists.Tourists flock here to enjoy the coolness of the special summer season and to see the Gurans bloom in April-May. The government has also declared Bhedetar and surrounding areas as ‘National Tourism Areas’.

As some may not know, in a 2011 CNN survey, Namje village in Dhankuta was ranked as the eighth best destination in the world. This village is now being visited every day. As the popularity of Namje village has increased, tourists have started coming here from far and wide. Namje, which is in the former Bhedetar VDC-7, is at a distance of 7 kilometers from Bhedetar. At present, small hotels and homestays are in operation in this place.Tourists visiting Namje can also enjoy a night of Magar hooray dance. Large buses, jeeps and motorcycles are the main means of transportation from Bhedetar to Namje. From Namje, Kanchenjunga, Kumbhakarna, Makalu Himal can also be seen.

Namaste Jharna is also one of the popular tourist destinations in the East. It is known as a different destination. Many reach this waterfall to play with the cold water in order to escape the scorching heat of the lowlands. It is crowded on public holidays and Saturdays. Namaste  the waterfall is a hillock. This waterfall has fallen from a height of 80 meters. Nowadays, more than 300 tourists visit the waterfall daily, said the waterfall management committee. Students from Bihar, India and western Nepal also come to Namaste Jharna for educational tours and observations.

As the number of tourists has increased, the road to Namaste Jharna has been arranged. Similarly, other necessary infrastructures are also being constructed. Namaste Jharna was listed as a tourist destination by the District Development Committee about two decades ago. After landing at Biratnagar from Kathmandu by plane, Bhedetar can be reached after traveling a distance of about 55 km by taxi. Bhedetar can also be reached by day or night service from Kadamadu to Dharan by taking a reserve taxi from Bhanuchok. From the eastern side of Bhanuchok in Dharan, there are many buses leaving for Rajarani, Terhathum, Bhojpur, Khandbari, Basantapur, Pakhriwas and other places. Hunters can be reached by paying a fare of Rs 50. Nowadays, auto rickshaws from Dharan also provide services to hunters.. Namaste waterfall can be reached after descending from Bhedetar to Namje 2 km east and 2 km north.

There are dozens of well-equipped hotels and lodges for tourists who want to spend many days in there  . Most of the winter trekking is tempting. Kodo’s Tungba and Rango’s Sukuti are considered special ‘items’ here. For those who like Nepali food, Gundruk’s Sinki is a good dish here. According to hotel operators, Indian and Chinese food is also prepared for foreign tourists.Although Bhedetar is an attractive destination for sightseeing, there has been little publicity. No initiative has been taken to bring foreign tourists to the capital. The Tourism Board does not seem to have taken any initiative to bring tourists here. Entrepreneurs here lament the role of the Tourism Board in the development of tourism in the East. ‘It is unfortunate that there is no effective program to promote tourism in Bhedetar. Now everything has to go this way .Of course, there is also a lack of large capacity hotels in Bhedetar. There is a situation where even 50-60 tourists cannot be accommodated.

If someone wants to hold a seminar and a large number of tourists have to stay, there is a lack of such hotels in Bhedetar.Dharan is the gateway to Bhedetar. Dharan is also considered as a tourist destination of the East. Therefore, it is necessary to expand Bhedetar and surrounding historical-religious areas including Dharan as tourist areas. However, there is a possibility of extending the cable car from Dharan to Bhedetar. Like Manakamana of Gorkha, Pathibhara temple of Bhedetar can also become a tourist attraction . Paragliding has also been tested here. For that, two companies have been registered and started working. However, due to the rainy season, this work has not been carried out effectively. In any case, the successful test has confirmed that paragliding can be started from Bhedetar to Dharan.

Hindus believe that after visiting the seven dhams, one reaches heaven. Sworgadwari is the end point of a religious journey starting from Pashupatinath. According to the religion itself, Sworgadwari, the holy shrine of Pyuthan, attracts about 500,000 people every year. This path to heaven is not only a gateway to Pyuthan but also a gateway to the prosperity of the five states.Swargadwari, one of the seven Dhams of Nepal.

Holy religious and tourist pilgrimage. Everyone who hears the name thinks, ‘You must reach once.’ The most important means of identifying Pyuthan is Sworgadwari. ‘What is Sworgadwari really like?’ It is heard in the minds of many. However, for those who have returned, Sworgadwari feels like a ‘fountain of heaven’. Anyone who arrives here will experience heaven.  Sworgadwari Ashram is located at Khal in Sworgadwari Municipality Ward No. 1.

The clean air, the mountain ranges overlooking the mountains make it even more attractive to tourists. Swargadwari was formerly known as ‘Lake of Heaven’.   The prestige here has been increasing lately.

All kinds of investments made by Hindus are made at Swargadwari. After Pashupatinath, Swargadwari is becoming the main destination for religious tourists. Swargadwari attracts more foreign tourists than internal ones. More and more tourists are coming from Maharajgunj, Gorakhpur, Balrampur, Krishnanagar and other places in India.

Gifts offered by Indian tourists have become a major source of income here. They offer Indian rupees as gifts. This has helped in raising double the value of the Nepali rupee. According to the Ashram Management Committee, 60 percent Indian and 40 percent Nepali tourists visit Swargadwari.

According to the Ashram Management Committee, about 500,000 tourists return to Swargadwari every year, both internally and externally. The attraction is increasing day by day as it feels like reaching heaven after reaching the temple and performing worship. “The number of tourists visiting Swargadwari is increasing,” said Baburam Neupane, an assistant at the ashram. “Swargadwari was formerly known as the Lake of Heaven.” In the morning, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchche, Annapurna and other mountain ranges can be clearly seen from here.

What is in Swargadwari?

The main attraction of Swargadwari is the fire-powered Yajna Kunda revealed by Vedmantra. The shrine has been burning since 1952 BS. There is a history that Swargadwari Mahaprabhu found worship materials and built an ashram. The importance of Swargadwari has increased due to the belief that the worship material was performed by five Pandavas. Especially on the full moon day of Baisakh, Gaitihar Aunsi, Vijayadashami, Maghe Sankranti and other festivals, a big fair is held here.At other times, there are daily prayers and fairs.

Historic and picturesque lakes, the five Pandavas, the path to heaven, the cave where Mahaprabhu did penance, the Veda Pathshala, which has been operating continuously since 1952, the Govardhana Hills, the hundreds of cows reared in the ashram .There is a practice of changing the Brahmins as per the need in the Akhand Mahayagya which is conducted in the ashram on the full moon day of Baisakh. On the same day, Vibhuti is also taken out for the whole year. It is believed that the aspirations will be fulfilled after reaching the Swargadwari and observing the worship and the temple.

How to reach
There are two roads to reach Swargadwari. Under the East-West Mahendra Highway, it can be reached from Bhaluwang of Dang via Bhingri of Pyuthan and Ghorahi of Dang through Holeri Road. From Bhaluwang, you have to reach Swargadwari base camp (Swargadwari Gate) Bhingri by taking a 55 km paved road.

Dharmapani Bazaar is reached after crossing 13 and a half kilometers of unpaved road from Bhingri. You have to climb about one and a half kilometers from Dharampani.Horseback riding is also available for those who cannot walk. Indian pilgrims like to walk from Bhingri to Swargadwari. It takes four hours for pedestrians to reach Swargadwari Ashram from Bhingri.

sworgadwari

Due to lack of road facilities, most of the tourists used to reach Swargadwari temple on foot. To reach Swargadwari from Ghorahi-Holeri, one has to travel 56 kilometers. The road to Holeri has been tarred. Most of the tourists choose the Bhaluwang-Bhingri road as it is blocked. According to Assistant Kothari Neupane, about 90 percent of the pilgrims reach Swargadwari through this road after the unpaved road from Bhingri to Swargadwari is tarred.

The management of the ashram has arranged a dharamshala in the ashram premises to provide security to the pilgrims staying at night. Smoking and drinking are prohibited inside the ashram premises. After connecting the solar, cold water has also been provided. In cold weather, non-organic greens, cow’s milk, curd and honey are the main ‘khanki’ for the devotees. Free Wi-Fi has also been managed since last April. From October to January, greens are planted on the vacant land of Swargadwari. This vegetable is the vegetable for the pilgrims.

Large-scale planting of gardens also seems to be another attraction here.

As the number of pilgrims coming to Swargadwari is increasing day by day, the construction of physical infrastructure here has not been able to make the leap as expected. There is some hope among the devotees after the unpaved road from the base camp Bhingri to Swargadwari Dharmapani has been blacklisted. Stakeholders have said that the road has been tarred within a few years.

sworgadwari

The construction of the stairs is almost complete. A gate has been constructed in Dharmapani courtesy of a devotee from Dang.

The construction of Dharampala in Dharampani, which was started through the District Development Committee of Savik, is in abeyance. After the dissolution of the local body, the concerned body has not taken any initiative in its construction. Although a hospice was built to accommodate hundreds of devotees, it was not completed. The ashram has stated that the construction could not be completed due to negligence of the contractor.

However, a dharamshala has already been built in the ashram premises that can accommodate about 400 devotees daily. As the number of devotees will increase along the blacktop road, it seems that more organized hospices are needed. An atmosphere conducive to keeping devotees for four or five days has not yet been created at Swargadwari. Nowadays tourists also want to enjoy modern style. There is a need to build a garden in the ashram area, a children’s park, a pavilion on the path where the Lord walks and other structures.

By focusing on Resunga, Ridi, Supadeurali of Arghakhanchi in the neighboring district of Gulmi along with Swargadwari, an environment can be created for tourists to walk this route, which can lead to the development of many areas along this route. Lumbini-Swargadwari-Gaumukhi-Dhorpatan-Muktinath can be developed as a tourism route, said Chandra Lal Bhandari, president of the Hotel Entrepreneurs’ Association Pyuthan. “Pyuthan is very rich in tourism potential,” says Neupane.

There should be a common vision in the action plan to turn the tourists coming to Swargadwari around Pyuthan. If an environment is created in which the people of the district can also benefit from the Swargadwari that identifies Pyuthan, then everyone can truly belong to the development and promotion of Swargadwari.

Those who go to Manaslu Circuit follow the Budhigandaki River to the northwest and ascend to Samagaun. This road goes through Samdo, Dharamshala, passing through the 5,125-meter-high Larke Bhanyang, passing through Bhintagam, Kharche, Bhirche and reaching Bensishahar. chum valley.

Let’s travel to chum Valley this time. Now the season is also suitable.

chum valley

If you walk at a speed of 7 to 10 hours a day, this journey can be completed in at least 10 days. Foreign hikers complete the journey in 15 to 16 days.

Let’s start the journey of chum valley from Kathmandu with the stopped monsoon.

The beginning of the journey
There is a regular bus service from Kathmandu to Dhading and Gorkha border market Arughat via Dhading Basin. From there it takes one to one and a half hours to reach Soti by local bus and jeep.

If it is winter time, you can drive to Machha Khola, which is a day’s walk away. The road above Sotikhola is difficult as the rains have not stopped yet. So people like to walk from here.

There are some hotels and lodges along the Soti river, as well as camping sites. From here, you can get information about the bag you are carrying, the essentials, the porter and the condition of the road ahead.

The second day
It is better to have breakfast and walk as fast as possible. Now the road is to go over the edge of Budhigandaki. The rains have not stopped yet and the road is getting wet due to the cold at night. Otherwise, the fear of slipping and falling into old age due to even a small mistake will remain throughout the journey.

After walking from Soti, you reach Lapubensi for breakfast. Khorlabensi is suitable for overnight stays. Since you have to walk through the gorge of Kholaikhola, you can’t find a few days to observe the beautiful hill view.

As you follow the steep slopes along the steep slopes of Budhigandaki, you will find steep, stone-paved sidewalks on the left and right sides of the road. Those roads were to go to Laprak, Gumda, Barpak or Mazhagaun, Dorba, Kashigaun and Kerauja.

After walking for three or four hours from Lapubensi, you reach Machakhola. There are hotels and camping places to stay.

It can cost 150 to 200 rupees to eat dal rice and 500 to 1000 rupees for sleeping. If you want to sleep in a group, you can get a bed with a bed for only 100 rupees.

If you walk another hour from Machha Khola, you will find another market, which is called Khorla Besi. The main village of Khorla is found an hour’s drive west from here.

As it is the first day of the journey, tonight is a good time to stay in Khorla Basin. The road leading to Khorla Besi is considered to be a little more risky. This section of road is very slippery during the rainy season as it protrudes from the river bank, so that even people from horses to mules are missing in Budhigandaki.

The third day

After an hour’s walk from Khorlabesi, you reach Tatopani. Pedestrians stop here for an hour and a half to bathe in hot water, as there are some hotels and hot springs along the way.

The next step is to cross the suspension bridge over Budhigandaki and proceed on the right bank of the river. The front reaches Dobhan. From here, after crossing a steep hill, you reach Yarukhola. After proceeding further from Yarukhola, cross the Budhigandaki suspension bridge and proceed on the left bank.

Tonight is a good time to rest in the world. Jagat is a small market located at an altitude of 1660 meters. As it is also the office of Manaslu Conservation Area, only foreign tourists who have trekking permission can go ahead of here.

Forth Day

Moving forward from the world, the road continues on a steep slope like before, on the banks of a river, sometimes on a cliff and sometimes on a buggy.

After crossing Salleri, Sirdibas and Ghatte rivers and crossing the high suspension bridge over Budhigandaki for half an hour, you reach the pleasant Lekali Gurung village. The name is – Film.

As beautiful as the name suggests, this village is very beautiful. Film is a major market in the region. Schools, health facilities, shops, hotels are all here. We still have to go upstairs from here. Tomorrow is the day to kiss the valley.

For that, today we have to go to Eklebhatti or Lokpa and stay there.  .

The fifth day
After an hour’s drive from Eklebhatti, the road splits in two directions. If you follow Budhigandaki to the northwest, you will reach Samake, Samdo and Larke, i.e. Manaslu Circuit. However, we continue north along the Siyar River, which flows through the chum Valley.

The most difficult and steepest part of the journey now begins. The road is steep and narrow all day long. This is where the chum valley region begins. Today, if we walk a little harder, we can reach chum ling village for lunch.

chum -ling is the first village of the Sherpa community of Tibetan origin to be found during our trip. Attractive house made of stone, Chumling looks delightful with the crops ripening all around. From here, there is a breathtaking view of the Siringi Himal.

chum valley

If you walk for three hours from Chumling, you will reach Chhekampar in the evening. Considered to be the largest village in the chum Valley, hotels, lodges and homestays abound here. There is also a border police post here as the Taple Naka (5104 m) entering Tibet is the same route.

The real Chum Valley can be experienced from Chhekampar. Artistic houses made of stone, attractive monasteries, thousands of Mane and Chhorten all around and the mountain lap adorned with nature.
Wow! Our country.

The sixth day
Now, from the north to the south, we begin to walk down the steep Himalayan valley.

Looking south from Chhekampar, we can always see the northern face of Himalchuli and Buddhist Himal to the north and the 7,140 meter high Ganesh Himal to the east. On the way forward, Naur, Himali Thar, Ghoral are found everywhere along the way. Herds of yaks and thieves block the walkway.  chum valley .

We now head north at the foot of the Himalayan peak to the west of Ganesh Himal. A wide field, deep in the field, Mane, Chhorten, Gumba, the famous Richen Gumba can be seen across the river. On the way through Lamabgar, you will find a huge Buddhist stupa, which is called Chule Stupa. chum valley.

The road is easy from Chhekampar. Slightly uphill, river and farm dilapidated walk. After crossing the Chule village and crossing the narrow bridge, you come to a small village on the river bank in chum valley.

Blue (3361 m), the last human settlement on our journey. This is the last village of chum valley  Above it is valley only the famous Mu Gumba, considered to be the center of faith in the region.

Blue has simple hotels, lodges and camping sites. This place is a bit colder than other places as it is covered with mountains all around chum valley

The seventh day
Now we are at the end of the journey. of chum valley

After a two-hour walk north from Nile, you reach Mu Gumba. From an altitude of 3,700 meters, one can see the beautiful scenery all around. If you walk further north through Mu Gumba, you will reach the Nepal-Tibet border. However, since there is no human settlement above the monastery, tourists often return from the monastery. Pedestrians return to the nearby Rikang, Dhefudo, observing the monasteries in chum valley .

On the way back, looking at the peaks of western Mohoda of Ganesh Himal, it is a good place to stay for the night. From here, we return to the other side of the river, namely Rechen Gumba, Tumje, Ripchet, instead of the road we had crossed the day before. chum valley

The eighth day
Now it’s time to go back. We can reach Ripchet for breakfast by going downhill road. From there, we can go to Ekle Bhatti and stay in the movie in the evening.chum valley .

History Of Kathmandu Valley

Until 1.5 million years ago, it was not a Kathmandu valley like it is now. Kathmandu Valley was a dense forest. If any human ancestor had come here to hunt, he would have met the elephant. That elephant was not as big as it is now. Was just a little bigger than us or our ancestors .According to geologists, the transformation of Kathmandu Valley began 1.5 million years ago, when friction between the Eurasian and Indian plates caused the Mahabharata mountain range to erupt to the south.

When the Bagmati was blocked and the ditch was filled with water, the dense forest here began to be submerged and destroyed. There was a commotion in the herd of animals. Clever animals may sting. Losses may have drowned while trying to make millions in Kathmandu valley. The fossils we have found are those of drowned animals.

Scientific studies have shown that the process of flooding of   Khaldo started about 30,000 years ago. Two geographical disturbances may be responsible.

First, the frictional friction between the Eurasian and Indian plates that caused the Mahabharata mountain to rise to the south and form the Kathmandu Valley and freeze the lake, the constant friction of the same plate caused major earthquakes here in different periods.

For thousands of years, earthquakes shook the Valleys around the Kathmandu Valley. The gorges were cut, which became small and big bhanjyangs including Sanga, Pati (Sundarijal), Murkhu (Kakani), Gokarna, Pashupati, Bhimdhunga, Pharping and Naikap. The only geologist is of the opinion that water was drained from those bhanjyangs.

The water that has accumulated over millions of years has certainly not evaporated in a few thousand years. It is estimated that it took at least 20,000 years for the complete extinction. During this period, some gullies may have been torn by earthquakes, some may have been cut by water currents.

The fact that water was frozen in the Kathmandu Valley does not mean that it is full from the surface of the river below to the top of Chandragiri hill. There are many lakes, small, big, deep, lamcha, which have been drained in their own way at different times.

Kathmandu Valley
Kathmandu Valley

he longest lake-like terrain is the deep plain between the present Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur regions.

This last remnant of  Lake was excavated from Chobhar Gorge about 10,000 years ago, which is confirmed by scientific facts. Some things we can also understand from legends.

Origin of Kathmandu Valley

It is said  that after Manjushree opened the water outlet by striking the Chobhar hill with a sword, it became suitable for human settlement in the Kathmandu valley. The knot of mystery that scientific research has not been able to solve is hidden in the legends.

We can also compare Manjushree’s sword attack with earthquakes of different periods. Why did Manjushri strike at Chobhar from the Yatra hills around the valley? Why not in Gokarna? Why not in Sanga? And didn’t Manjushri have to use a sword to cut the bhanjyang in Sundarijal and Kakani?

Our legend indicates that the last lake of Kathmandu Khaldo dried up and the Valley became habitable after the opening of Chobhar Danda.

The revelation of this story is that Kathmandu, which specializes in changing the form of ‘amoeba’, became a land suitable for human habitation at least 10,000 years ago by drying the water of the lake from the dense forest 1.5 million years ago in Valley

This is an interesting coincidence between Kathmandu story and human history.

At a time when the Kathmandu Valley was becoming habitable, our human ancestors were just learning to farm. They were making strides from the hunter-gatherer era to the agricultural era for millions of years.

They were trying to grow grain by mashing the forest. They were raising animals useful for milk, eggs and meat like cows, sheep, chickens and buffaloes. They were setting up permanent settlements in search of arable land along the river. From Egypt to Iran and from the United States to Africa, agriculture, animal husbandry, and systematic settlement were beginning .At such an important ‘turning point’ of human development, the Kathmandu Valley must have attracted a group of human beings wandering in search of a place to live .They rejoiced here, became here. Settled settlements, revived culture, created new states.Like a relay race, the kingdom passed from one ruler to another. Each ruler brought new art, new skills, skills and culture, architecture and style. The combination of all made Kathmandu a civilization.

The Licchavis have been expelled from Vaishali, India. Vaishali was ‘abbal’ in method, system and architecture in Kathmandu Valley. Their capital is near Patna in the Indian state of Bihar. India has been promoting Vaishali as the world’s ‘first republic’. According to Hindu architecture, this city-state, built in a square geometric pattern of nine-khanas, was surrounded by walls.

Kathmandu Valley
Kathmandu Valley

There were large wooden gates at the main entrances to the city. Lichchhavi remains are still abundant here, which are a tourist attraction. In the last year of Gautama Buddha’s life, in 486 BC, King Ajatashatru of Magadha attacked Vaishali. The Licchavis, who escaped with their lives, crossed the eastern part of India, climbed the forests of Madhes and reached Kathmandu Valley there .

How long could those who ruled a vast and prosperous empire like Vaishali stay away from Rajpath? One day, seeing the opportunity, he chased away all the Mallas, Gopal and others who ruled in different parts of the Kingdom of Nepal, including Kirant, and established their political supremacy and made Handigaun the capital. This is about the first century BC or the first century in Kathmandu Valley .

Whether it’s Athens in Greece or Rome in Italy, Luxor in Egypt, Damascus in Syria or Benares in India – there are many thousands of years old cities in the world. However, there are few ancient cities whose original form and structure have not changed. It is one of the rarest ancient cities in the world.

In terms of geography, this city, like the ‘Amoeba’, has preserved the rich Lichchavi-era urban crafts. It is now the responsibility of our generation to recognize Kathmandu Valley and make it known around the world.

Until a few years ago, the name of Sakhdeshwari Bhagwati was worshiped there. As there was no head in the idol of Bhagwati, it was later renamed as Chhinnamasta Bhagwati.A closer look at the idol of Sakhada Bhagwati reveals that it was set up in three pieces. In 1328, Gayasuddin Tughlaq attacked Tirhut. As a result, Simraungadh was destroyed .Even the idols of Simraugadh are still in a state of disrepair. Historians say that the idol of Sakhada Bhagwati may have been blown up in the same attack.Chhinnamasta Bhagwati’s temple is a center of faith for the Muslim community as well as the Hindus. What is the main objective of Visit Nepal 2020?
