Taj Mahal

Construction began in 1632 and was completed in 15 years. He spent the last days of his life in prison watching the Taj Mahal from prison. This beautiful domed palace is surrounded by gardens. It is considered to be one of the finest examples of Mughal craftsmanship. It is said that Shah Jahan was captured by his son in his old age and spent his last days in captivity watching the Taj Mahal.
